Genaina, June 18 (SUNA) – Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, attended on Wednesday the signing of a reconciliation agreement between Arab tribes, especially Rezeigat and Messairiya tribes.

Massar Abdul-Rahman Aseel, who signed on behalf of Rezeigat tribe, affirmed that the two sides have settled their differences in good faith, stressing that they are now in reconciliation with their Messairiya brothers and working to bridge all the gaps, noting that this reconciliation will be an example to be followed.

He said that they will stretch their hands to all the components and tribes in the region so that the state can live in security and stability, praising the peace and reconciliation committee of the Rapid Support Forces for its efforts, patience and solution of all the challenges until this agreement was reached.

The Vice - President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Muhammad Hamdan, demanded that this peace  shall be protected by deterrence and the extension of the prestige of the state.

He also for expediting the resolution of the dispute between Gemir and the Rezeigat, and the Rezeigat and the Massalit, by finding a permanent and comprehensive solution.

Emir Hafez Al-Sheikh, who signed on behalf of Messairiya tribe, affirmed that the war erupted between the two sides has led to killings, displacement and the burning of villages.

He commended the role played by the peace and reconciliation committee of the Rapid Support Forces, and demanded the implementation of the reconciliation agreement as soon as possible, stressing that they are working to enhance the peaceful coexistence between their Rezeigat brothers, and to open a new chapter of reconciliation and cooperation.

He also affirmed the importance of imposing the prestige of the state by increasing the security vehicles in the locality to prevent and deter the unruly persons.

He called for strengthening the social fabric, closing the gaps for the unruly persons, rejecting tribalism and regionalism, adherence to justice, consolidating the religious values, returning the displaced and refugees and providing them with basic services, which are security, education and health.

The reconciliation agreement’s signing was attended by the members of the Sovereignty Council, Dr. Al-Hadi Idris and Al-Taher Hajar, the Governor of Darfur Region, Menni Arko Mennawi, the Wali (governor) of West Darfur State, Khamis Abdalla Abbakar, the United Nations Representative to Sudan and the Sultan of Massalit, Saad Abdul-Rahman Bahr-Eddin.
