Genaina, June 21 (SUNA) – Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, Tuesday held an important meeting with the security committee of West Darfur State, in the presence of the Sovereignty Council members Al-Tahir Hajar and Dr. Al-Hadi Idris, and discussed the repeated security incidents that occurred recently in Geneina, Jebel Moun, Kulbus, Kerenek and other areas in the state.
In a press statement, the Wali (governor) of West Darfur State, Khamis Abdalla Abbakar, said that the participants at the meeting have regretted the repeated events in the state and adopted a number of important decisions for boosting the security and stability in West Darfur State and imposing the state’s prestige.
He explained that the meeting decided sending joint forces to Genaina city next week to work for keeping security and stability in the state.
He stated that the meeting also stressed the importance of close coordination between all the forces in the state, completing implementation of the security arrangements item and removing the movement’s forces to places outside the cities, indicating that other decisions were taken and will be announced successively in the coming days.
He noted that the meeting underscored the importance of starting a societal dialogue between all the social components in West Darfur State to achieve comprehensive security, stability and peaceful co-existence.
