Khartoum, June 26 (SUNA) - Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Jibril Ibrahim has affirmed that Sudan is qualified to play a major role in providing a solution to Arab food security, stressing that Sudan is qualified more than what is expected of it and needs internal effort to reach the various Arab parties to invest in the agricultural field in Sudan.

During his meeting with Prof. Ibrahim Al-Dukhairi, Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), Dr. Jibril affirmed Sudan's readiness to remove all obstacles facing investment in the agricultural field, declaring that the partnership with the Arab world is for the benefit of all, noting that food production in Sudan is less expensive and closer to the Arab world.

He said the Sudanese farmers are ready to receive others and work with them in a productive and beneficial strategic partnership for all and work to revive Sudan's initiative for Arab food security in coordination with the League of Arab States.

For his part, Professor Ibrahim Al-Dukhairi said that Sudan has many resources that can effectively contribute to filling the food gaps in the Arab world, adding that Sudan has expressed its willingness, through the Minister of Finance, to facilitate investment and benefit from the vast resources of the country, referring to the initiative led by the Arab League for Arab Food Security based on the sustainable program for Arab food security.
