Khartoum, July 18 (SUNA) – The Governor of the Blue Nile State and chairman of the state’s security and humanitarian aid and development committees, Ahmed Al-Ummda Badi, has accused the ousted regime of involvement in the armament of citizens all over the country.
At a meeting held on Monday to brief the representatives and officials of the international and regional organizations and the UN agencies operating in the Blue Nile State, the state’s Governor praised the outstanding role of the security organs in containing the security situation.
The Governor provided an integrated briefing on the causes and repercussions of the recent security events, and refuted the allegations that allegations on SPLM’s arming to one of the parties in the dispute.
He said that the spread of weapons has exacerbated the problem, referring the required logistical and materials needs to enable the regional government to face the existing challenges.
He also pointed the directives issued by the Security and Defence Council at the federal level regarding formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate in the events.
He announced that arrangements were adopted to conduct legal measures against those involved in the events in order to achieve justice, stressing that determination to coordinate all efforts to restore the situation to normal in all parts of the region.
