Damazin, July 25 (SUNA) – The Governor of the Blue Nile Region, Ahmed Al-Umdda Badi, received in his office on Monday a delegation of the good offices’ committee, emerging from the initiative sponsored by Emir Mohamed Ali Yagoub, and got informed from the accomplishments achieved in the context of the initiative of the Higher Native Administration Council in Sudan, which was presented by the chieftain Usama Mohamed Al-Haja for reconciliation between the parties in the events witnessed in the Blue Nile State lately.
The meeting has reviewed an integrated report on outcome of the meetings held with all the concerned parties.
The Secretary General of the region’s government indicated that the meeting between the Governor and the good offices’ committee reviewed the ongoing efforts to achieve a cessation of hostilities document to be signed by the concerned parties.
He said that the delegation has informed the Governor on the outcome of the social visits to offer condolences to the families of the victims in the two sides, besides the delegation visits to the persons affected by the incidents in their locations.
Members of the committee have appreciated the steps taken by the region government and the authorities to achieve a cessation of hostilities.
