Khartoum, Aug.1st (SUNA)- The Federal Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the registering of the first confirmed case of the Monkeypox in the country at West Darfur State, explaining that the infected is a 16-year-old student.

The case was confirmed on Sunday by the National Public Health Laboratory, and no other case was confirmed.

The Director of the General Department of Emergency and Epidemics Combat at the federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Montasir Mohamad Osman, said that the suspected cases of the disease are 38 cases, stating that all of them were negative, except the case of West Darfur State's student.

He added that the State's Ministry of Health is currently engaged in an active survey with an assistance with the Federal Ministry of Health to identify the infection place.
