Al-Geneina, Aug. 2 (SUNA) - Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo chaired a meeting of the joint security committee at the Guests Palace in Al-Geneina, capital of West Darfur State, today.

The police representative, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ibrahim Awadallah, affirmed in a press statement that the meeting, which included the security committee accompanying the delegation of the Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the State Security Committee, heard detailed reports on the security and humanitarian situation in West Darfur, within the framework of the security measures made recently through the tribal reconciliations that were concluded by the conflicting tribes, as well as the efforts made to return the displaced and refugees to their villages, and to enforce the rule of law through widespread deployment of joint forces in the localities of the state to protect the citizens.

Awadallah explained that the meeting got assured on the security and societal stability, and stressed the need to boost coordination between all the regular forces to prevent negative phenomena in order to protect the gains achieved in the state to restore security, peace and normalcy.
