Moscow, August 18 (SUNA) - The Sudanese-Russian technical talks kicked off in the Russian capital, Moscow, on Wednesday, in preparation for the meetings of the Higher Ministerial Committee between the two countries, where the two sides engaged in the meetings of specialized committees to complete the outstanding issues. The Sudanese side was headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Muhammad Saeed Zain-al-Abideen, while the Russian side was headed by the Russian Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources. The head of the Sudanese technical side affirmed Sudan's readiness to enter into new partnerships with Russia, indicating that the spirit of cooperation that prevailed in the meetings reflects the firm desire to implement what will be signed. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals added that the technical talks were currently discussing a number of agreements and protocols signed between the two countries, pointing out that the technical meetings formed sub-committees according to the specializations and files to be signed, adding that the parties agreed on a number of treatments related to the outstanding issues on the mineral side. For his part, the member of the delegation and Ministerial Executive Director Ahmed Haroun explained that the industrial minerals as an economic value have found their share of extensive discussion in the meetings, stressing that the two sides are working on drafting the minutes of the meetings in their final form, prior to their submission to the ministerial committee. It is to be recalled that the technical meetings will continue on Thursday, the second day, in order to initialize the technical agreements in preparation for submitting them to the ministerial meeting on Friday.
