Khartoum, August 23 (SUNA) - The Undersecretary for Economic Planning at the Ministry of Finance Mohamed Bashar Mohamed has announced that a partnership contract would be signed on Wednesday between Turkish companies, represented by the Turkish (Atrakia) Company, and the Board of Directors of Gezira Scheme in the fields agricultural production and machineries. The Undersecretary of Planning praised, in meeting held Tuesday at the Tower of the Ministry of Finance with the Turkish companies and businessmen, the economic cooperation between Sudan and Turkey in all fields, stressing to push cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural and industrial fields to broader horizons, revealing that the purpose of the visit of the delegation of Turkish businessmen and companies to culminate the partnership between Gezira Scheme Board and Turkish companies, adding that Turkey has long experiences in the field of agricultural production, seeds and machineries. Mohamed added that the meeting discussed the ongoing arrangements and procedures for signing the partnership contract between the Turkish companies and the board of directors of Gezira Scheme for the production of agricultural seeds, explaining that the purpose of producing seeds and agricultural machineries in Sudan is to cover the needs of the country, neighboring and COMESA countries. The Undersecretary for Economic Planning at the Ministry of Finance said that the Turks had expressed full readiness for the success of the agricultural partnership with Sudan. He explained that the Turkish partnership with the Gezira Scheme would make it lead the agricultural renaissance in Sudan, expressing his ministry's readiness to provide all facilities to complete the Turkish partnership with Sudan in the fields of agricultural seeds, machineries and industrialization in Gezira Scheme, underscoring the importance of the project and its valuable returns on the national economy.  For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkey Company for the Production of Seeds and Agricultural Machinery, explained that Gezira Scheme was chosen after extensive studies in Sudan for the production of seeds and agricultural machineries. He said that Gezira Scheme was chosen to be the starting point for the COMESA countries to meet the African demand for agricultural production, revealing that the Turkish companies are accompanied by a delegation of Turkish businessmen and representatives of the Turkish Ministries of Agriculture and Industry. He announced that the partnership with Sudan enjoyed the support of the political administration in Turkey and the Turkish parliament for the establishment of the agricultural partnership with Sudan in the field of seeds and agricultural machineries as a base to launch to Africa.
