Khartoum, Aug. 25  (SUNA) - The Ministry of Justice issued,  yesterday,  a clarification regarding the statement of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Mr. Karim Khan, during his briefing to the UN Security Council on prevention of  the Sudanese authorities of the ICC investigators from meeting persons wanted by the court.

The Ministry of Justice has stated in its clarification that the Prosecutor of the ICC did not submit any request to interview those wanted by the court during his current visit to Sudan.

The Ministry of Justice, has indicated that it is as the primary communication channel, has received a request in June from the International Criminal Court for an interview with the wanted persons, which was then responded to and acknowledged by ICC office.

Ministry of Justice noted that it has received a number of requests for assistance from the court in the past, all of which have been responded to, affirming  the Sudanese authorities' cooperation with the ICC to achieve justice.
