Khartoum, August 30 (SUNA) - The General Intelligence Service (GIS) sent Tuesday a relief convoy to those affected by the torrential rains and floods that hit large parts of the country, as part of its relief program. The relief convoy was the second of its kind during this month, as it heads to Kassala and Gadarif states, besides South and East Darfur. In mid-August, the GIS had also sent a relief convoy to the states of Gezira and River Nile. For his part, the Head of the Information Department at the General Intelligence Service, Brig. Gen. Nasr-Eddin Al-Tahir, esteemed the contribution of the GIS employees through their support to those affected by heavy rains and floods, pointing to the continuation of the Supreme Committee to support and provide assistance to those affected, drawing attention to the effects that torrential rains and floods will leave in the coming period.
