Khartoum, Sept. 8 (SUNA) - The meetings of the fifth session of Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers has kicked off with the preparatory session of senior officials, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, during the period 7-9 September 2022 Under the slogan "Youth and Sports Development to Build a Solidarity Nation".

The preparatory meetings of the conference was attended by Ms. Mona Abdel-Qader, the senior official at the Sudanese Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Undersecretary for Sports and Youth Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Sports stressed in his speech that the Kingdom’s hosting of the fifth session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers affirms keenness of the Saudi leadership represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on uniting ranks in serving the interests of the Islamic nation's youth.

 He pointed out that the conference comes within the framework of implementing joint action plan aimed at implementing the Youth Strategy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The ministerial meeting is held today with the participation of the Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports, Hazar Abdul-Rasoul, and the session will be led by the Minister of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, while the Secretary-General of the Organization, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, will deliver a speech highlighting the efforts of the organization and the highest priority for youth issues and the importance of activating their participation in the development of their societies.
