Khartoum, Sept. 22 (SUNA) - The head of Umma Party- Reform and Development, Dr. Ibrahim Adam, has stressed the importance of Sudan's participation in the meetings of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In a statement to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Dr. Adam considered address by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to the UN General Assembly, as very important at this time, pointing out that the international community need to hear the speech of Al-Burhan that clarifies facts directly instead of receiving reports from parties that are not decision-makers.

He said that the world is fully aware of the importance of Sudan for stability in the region, and that any insecurity will affect the region and international peace and security, and therefore it is aware of the importance of the role of the Army in the current situation to maintain security and stability, leading to the elections.

 Adam noted that the external activity of the President of the Sovereignty Council and his meetings with influential groups and personalities affirm Sudan's return to the international community.
