New York, Sept. 22 (SUNA) - President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council General Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan has stressed the need for United Nations agencies, donor countries, brothers and friends to provide humanitarian aid to Sudan for hosting millions of refugees from different parts of the African continent through decades.

In his address to the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this evening, Al-Burhan said that Sudan has continued to open its doors to refugees, share its few resources with them and offer them protection despite its known economic conditions.

He pointed out that aggravation of the effects of climate change, the alternation between droughts and floods, and shortage of humanitarian aid required provision of assistance to the host communities.
