New York, Sept. 23 (SUNA) – The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, discussed with the President of the Republic of Gambia, President Adama Barrow, importance of development of bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Gambia, as well as regional and international issues of common interest, especially the challenges facing the African continent.

During his meeting with the Gambian President, at the headquarters of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York, Al- Burhan gave a detailed review on the overall situation in the country, especially during the period that followed the corrective decisions on the 25th of October 2021.

Regarding the African Union’s decision to freeze Sudan’s activities, General Al-Burhan, stressed the importance of Sudan’s return to its normal position within the Union to contribute in facing the continent’s challenges, pointing to the importance of addressing African issues in the African House.

 Al-Burhan affirmed that the doors of Sudan will remain open to everyone who seriously seeks to stand by it to achieve the aspirations of its people for a democratic transition, and that it is still waiting for the AU’s mission find out the facts on the ground.

The Gambian President,  Adama Barrow, on his part, has expressed his gratitude for the briefing  , assuring the need for the African to be solved inside the African House, stressing his country's readiness to stand by Sudan to achieve the aspirations of its people for democratic transformation.
