Khartoum, Oct. 13 - (SUNA) - The Sudanese Electronic Press Association (SEPA), under sponsorship of the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority, organizes, at 09:00 am Saturday, October 15, a workshop entitled “The Reality And Future Prospects of Electronic Media in Sudan,” in the Hall of the Telecommunications Tower in Khartoum’s suburb of Burri.
The importance of organizing the workshop comes in light of the remarkable development in information technology, including the electronic media industry worldwide.
The program of the workshop includes addresses by the Minister of Culture and Information, the Chairperson of the Arab Electronic Press Association, the representative of the Telecommunication and Post Regulatory Authority, and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Abu Bakr Al-Amin, Secretary General of the Sudanese Electronic Press Association.
Five papers will be presented at the workshop, including a paper by the Sudanese Electronic Press Association entitled “Electronic Media, Obstacles and Proposed Solutions,” presented by the Head of the Association and Director of the Workshop, Abdul-Baqi Jubara Al-Bakri, and a paper by the International University of Africa entitled “African Electronic Press in Light of the New World Order,” presented by Dr. Zainab Azraq.
This is besides Sudan University of Science and Technology paper on electronic press: tools and standards, presented by Dr. Mohamed Saeed Omer, and a paper by Al-Zaeem Al-Azhari University on the role of electronic media in spreading the values of Sudanese identity, presented by Dr. Amira Hemmat.
At the conclusion of the workshop, comments and recommendations will be read out by Dr. Saif Al-Din Hassan Al-Awad, professor at Omdurman Islamic University.
