Dakar, Oct. 26 (SUNA) - The Acting Foreign Minister, Ambassador Ali Sadig Ali, met yesterday, on the sidelines of the Dakar Forum for Peace and Security, with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and mechanisms for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the role of Turkey in Africa in support of peace and security.

The two ministers also discussed enhancement of joint bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Turkey, and coordination and exchange of support in international and regional forums, and the role of Turkey in supporting peace and security in Africa.

The two ministers agreed on holding high-level bilateral talks between the governments of the two countries, and the holding of meetings of high-level economic delegations to benefit from the capabilities of the two countries.

The Turkish Foreign Minister affirmed his country's support for the stability of Sudan and support for reconciliation efforts to reach the end of the transitional period by holding free and fair elections.

The Acting Foreign Minister presented a briefing on the developments of the situation in Sudan, pointing out that a unified vision for the initiatives on the negotiating table is imminent to reach the formation of a civilian transitional government, to be followed by the organization of elections, meanwhile, the two sides affirmed the agreement of the two countries' views on everything that concerns their common interests at all levels.
