Khartoum, Nov. 20 (SUNA) - The Director General of Ethiopia’s National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), His Excellency Mr. Temesgen Tiruneh, and his accompanied delegation concluded their visit to Khartoum in the period from 19-20 November 2022.
The General Intelligence Service (GIS) said in a press release it issued today, that the Director General of Ethiopia’s National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) discussed with his counterpart, the Director General of Sudan’s General Intelligence Service (GIS), his Excellency, General Ahmed Ebrahim Ali Mufadal, the bilateral intelligence relationships between the two services.
The press release pointed out that the visit discussed strengthening the relations between the two services and the two brotherly countries to serve the best interests and to ensure peace and security in the two countries and the region in general.
The two services have also signed a joint memorandum of understanding, the press release added.
The press release noted that the two sides agreed to cooperate in the field of mutual training and exchange of experiences, and to enhance their joint efforts in counterterrorism, cross-border organized crime, transient economic crimes, and to address the issues of the citizens of the two countries.
The press release of (GIS) said that at the end of their visit, the Ethiopian Director General and his delegation met with his Excellencies, the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and the Vice President of the TSC.
