Addis Ababa, Nov. 21 (SUNA) – The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, received in his office on Monday the visiting member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the special envoy of the Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jaber.
Lt. Gen. Jaber has conveyed to the Ethiopian Prime Minister a verbal message from his brother the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, which included a number of issues pertinent to consolidating the bilateral relations between Sudan and Ethiopia for the interest of the two countries.
The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council has congratulated the Ethiopian Prime Minister on the peace agreement which was signed lately between the government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Movement, expressing Sudan readiness to support the implementation of this agreement.
On the other hand, Jaber presented to the Prime Minister the road-map prepared by Sudan. in its capacity as the current head of the IGAD, with the aim of reactivating the organization in all the aspects of its work to achieve security, stability and economic integration in the region, as well as issues related to achieving security and stability in the IGAD countries, and expanding the horizons of cooperation with partners.
Lt. Gen. Jaber also briefed the Ethiopian Prime Minister on the developments in the pollical process in Sudan that are expected to achieve a national consensus to pave the way for a smooth democratic transition in Sudan.
