Khartoum, Nov. 22 (SUNA) - Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Al-Hadi Idris Yahya has praised the positive role of the United Nations in supporting peace and stability in Sudan.

 This came when His Excellency met in his office today the visiting delegation of United Nations experts.

 The TSC Member briefed the UN experts on progress of implementation of Juba Agreement for Sudan Peace, and the challenges facing it, in addition to the required role of the international community to support the agreement.

Dr. Idris briefed the delegation on the overall situation in Darfur region through his repeated visits to the region, especially his recent visit to the States of North and South Darfur, during which he focused on the process of securing the agricultural season, in addition to his visit to the state of West Darfur, accompanying the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, during which a number of community reconciliations were made.

Regarding the current political crisis that Sudan is going through, Dr. Al-Hadi explained to the delegation that the Revolutionary Front has presented an initiative to address the crisis, stressing its readiness to work with all parties to reach a solution leading to formation of the desired civilian government, noting that the current political crisis has negatively affected implementation of the peace agreement.
