Khartoum, Nov. 23 (SUNA) - The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met this morning with the General Command, senior commanders of the Armed Forces and heads of departments of the Rapid Support Forces, in the framework of his regular meetings with commanders and senior officers.
General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan has saluted during the meeting the officers and soldiers stationed throughout the country as they performed their duties impartially, reviewing the developments of the political situation in the country, stressing the firm position of the Armed Forces to stand with the aspirations of the Sudanese people since April 2019, asserting that it will not back down from that position.
He renewed the pledges of the military leadership to withdraw from the political scene as soon as the political forces agreed, so that the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces would devote themselves to continue rearranging their ranks, reviewing their organizations, and preparing for future challenges.
His Excellency pointed out that any formula that guarantees the cohesion of the country and preserves the dignity of the regular forces to be able to carry out their national duties, and brings about an independent, non-partisan government, agreed upon by the political forces, will be accepted by the armed forces, stressing that the unity of the military institution, including the Rapid Support Forces, should not be neglected, affirming that the armed forces did not sign any bilateral agreement with any party.
It is worth noting that the meeting was attended by the members of the Armed Forces Command, commanders of the main forces, the inspector general, directors of departments and branches, leaders of formations, units, bases, and heads of departments of the Rapid Support Forces.
