Nyala, Nov. 28 (SUNA) - The Governor of South Darfur State, Hamid El-Tijani Hanoun, met in his office today with the delegations of the Donors Committee and the International Committee of the Red Cross, headed by James Rowland, Regional Director for Africa, in Geneva.
The visit aims to inspect the service projects and activities provided by donors to those affected by the war through the Red Cross.
The governor of S. Darfur state called on donors to expand the experience of distributing improved seeds for the improvement of the displaced and the poors’ conditions.
Hanoun said that the delegation will got acquainted with many aspects related to social, humanitarian and service work and the state's need through the ministry and the competent authorities, thanking the Red Cross and donors for providing services to the displaced.
The state’s Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Saleh Abdel Rahman, promised to provide all facilities to organizations working in the humanitarian field to provide aid and humanitarian services to those in need in the state.
The head of the donor delegation, James Rowland, the regional director for Africa in Geneva, pointed out that the visit is for the inspection of the service projects and activities provided by donors to those affected by the war, which are being implemented by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
He indicated that the delegation of the Donors Committee will inspect on ground some of the projects that have been implemented, including the maintenance of the state's water, the seed distribution project, pointing to the governor briefing to them on the humanitarian needs in the state.
