Khartoum, Dec. 2 (SUNA) - Ambassador Sayed Al-Tayeb Ahmed presented, yesterday, his credentials to Mr. QU Dongyu, Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), as permanent representative of the Republic of Sudan to the organization,

Ambassador Sayed Al-Tayeb has convyed to the Director-General of the organization the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Agriculture and Forests, appreciating the support that the organization in Khartoum has provided to Sudan.

On his part, Mr. Qu Dongyu welcomed the ambassador, wishing him success in performing his mission, commending the Sudan government's cooperation with the organization, stressing Sudan's ability to achieve food security and bridge the food gap in the Middle East.

He also expressed the organization's commitment to supporting the plans and programs of the Sudan’s government to achieve transformation in the agriculture sector as a top priority for the organization in Sudan.
