Khartoum, Dec. 4 (SUNA) – Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has affirmed importance of reaching final agreement between Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia on the issue of the Renaissance Dam to guarantee the rights of all.

This came when the TSC Vice-President received in his office today the Sudanese negotiating delegation on the issue of the Renaissance Dam, headed by acting Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Engineer Dhaualbait Abdel-Rahman Masour.

Daglo was briefed during the meeting on the progress of the talks and the latest developments of the file, praising the great efforts being exerted by the delegation and stressing that dialogue and consensus should be the main pillar for addressing the Renaissance Dam’s file in a way that enables the three countries benefit from the dam and not harmed.

The acting Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources said that the delegation provided a briefing to the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council on the progress of the talks on the Renaissance Dam, as well as some issues related to the Ministry of Irrigation, indicating that the delegation presented a comprehensive presentation of the Sudanese negotiating position and the future vision, and heard directives of General Daglo regarding the file, describing the meeting as fruitful and useful.
