Khartoum,Jan.18 (SUNA) –The Museum of the Khalifa's House  inaugurated Wednesday morning, in the presence of the Acting Minister of Culture and Information, governor of Khartoum State in the honor of the family of the Caliph Abdullah Al-Ta’ayshi and a number of diplomats at the British Embassy and the British Cultural Council in an official festive atmosphere.

The Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Graham Abdel-Gadir said that the current year 2023 is to be a year of museums, saying today the Khalifa’s House Community Museum was inaugurated and the National Museum, the Darfur Museum  , the Sheikan Museum will be opened  soon, as well as the Ethnography Museum will also be rehabilitated.

The Acting Wali (Governor) of Khartoum State, Professor Ahmed Osman Hamza , stressed the state's keenness to preserve Museum of the Khalifa's House  and its surrounding monuments, such as the Abdul Qayyum Gate, the Khalifa’s yard  and the dome of Imam al-Mahdi, to be a bright tourist destination to attract tourists and preserve heritage.
