Nouakchott, Jan. 19 (SUNA) –Acting Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Abdel-Ati Ahmed Abbas and a number of ministers of states and diplomatic missions participating in third African Conference for Promoting Peace, which is currently being held in Nouakchott, witnessed the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the conference in Nouakchott, in the presence of the Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs.

Abdel-Ati appreciated the efforts of the President of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, Sheikh Abdallah bin Bayyah, that led to stopping wars in the African continent and thanked him for his reform approach in addressing many problems and issues of violence as well as his call for moderation and rejecting hate speech.

For his part, the Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar, affirmed the success of the third African Conference for Promoting Peace, which is hosted by Mauritania.

He noted that he is looking forward to outcome of the conference, which enjoys wide international considerations and will contribute to addressing the problems of violence and extremism.
