Khartoum, Jan. 24 (SUNA) - Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Shams-Eddin Kabbashi has praised the role being played by France in supporting peace and stability in Sudan.

During his meeting in his office at the Republican Palace today the Ambassador of the Republic of France in Khartoum, Ms. Raja Rabei, Kabbashi stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and cooperation between the two countries in the various fields, especially economic ones, pointing to the importance of supporting the political process and the need for the international community and France to contribute to efforts to persuade the leaders of the non-signatory movements to join the peace process.

 Kabashi referred to the distinguished geographical location that Sudan enjoys, and its importance in promoting peace and stability in the region, stressing the importance of France and the European Union's support to finance the peace process and implement security arrangements for the success of the Juba Peace Agreement, reaffirming withdrawal of the Armed Forces from the political process.

 The Member of the Sovereignty Council affirmed Sudan's cooperation with the international community in the areas of combating terrorism and human trafficking, pointing to the importance of continuing development support to Sudan in order to achieve security, stability and development.
