Khartoum, Jan. 24 (SUNA) - Minister of Trade and Supply, Amal Saleh, and Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim inaugurated the (40th) session of Khartoum International, which will continue to the 31st of current January, with the participation of more than 12 countries and more than 500 local and international companies.
The (40th) session of Khartoum International Fair coinsides with the celebrations of the golden jubileeof the Sudanese Company for Free Zones and Free Shops the 50th anniversary of its establishment, with a large participation of officials and members of the diplomatic corps in Khartoum.
The Minister of Trade and Supply addressed the opening ceremony of Khartoum International Fair affirming the Sudan’s move to achieve sustainable economic development by continuing to bolster democracy and civilian rule for the welfare of the people, reviewing the country’s huge resources, pointing to the ministry’s package of measures for the facilitation of trade, with harmonization of its laws with the global economic regulations.
She indicated the large promising investment opportunities in Sudan with an encouraging investment facilitation through amendment of the investment law, pointing out to the food shortages due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and the Sudan’s large agricultural resources that qualify it to be the world's food basket.
The Trade Ministerhas welcomed in her addres the participating countries, the international and national companies, the various states of Sudan, the representative of the Algerian Minister of Trade, Maya Boulad, and her accompanying delegation, expressing thanks to the friendly and brotherly countries and all the exhibiting companies.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, the Minister of Trade and Supply and representatives of the participating delegations toured the various pavilions of the exhibition at the end of the opening ceremony.
