Khartoum, Jan. 26 (SUNA) - The Dams Implementation Unit Department (DIUD) has started implementing the project of the grant provided by the Saudi Fund for Development, which amounted to US$100m allocated for  the implementation of 500 groundwater stations in different states in Sudan.

The Director General of the (DIUD), Eng. Mohamed Nooreddin noted today at SUNA forum, that the first payment for the project amounted to US$60m, pointing out that distribution were based on water atlas information to comply with the objectives of the Millennium Water Plan, with special consideration to areas of fragility and conflict, attributing delay in implementation process to COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters.
