Khartoum, January 29 (SUNA) - The technical committees of the ministerial sectors, in their Sunday meeting chaired by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Othman Hussein Othman, deliberated on the draft federal government budget for the year 2023, presented by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Abdullah Ibrahim.

 

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance stated that the budget for the fiscal year 2023 aimed, in its general features, to improve people's livelihood and build human capital, by increasing the allocation of the necessary resources to the sectors of education, health, health insurance, sanitation services, and drinking water, in addition to supporting small producers to ensure abundance and safety of sustainable food for the community.

 

He pointed out that "the budget aims to support and build the state of law through the application of institutional governance and controls, transparency, accountability, and oversight of public funds." He added, "The 2023 budget also aims to reduce poverty rates, activate partnership between the public and private sectors, as well as the application of information technology and electronic governance besides mobilization of domestic resources by raising the rate of fiscal and tax effort in the gross domestic product to regional levels.

 

The technical committees recommended raising the draft budget for the ministerial sectors for its approval.
