Khartoum, Jan. 31 (SUNA) - The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, met today in his office a delegation from the Gash and Horticultural Sector farmers in Kassala State, in the presence of the State’s Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Khader Ramadan and the problems facing the horticultural sector in Kassala.
Minister of Agriculture in the state, Dr. Khader Ramadan, said in a press statement that the meeting reviewed the problems of the Gash Bridge, especially after the cracks that occurred in it during the last period and led to the sinking of large areas of agricultural land, indicating that the bridge is in dire need of maintenance, noting that the President of the TSC has promised to contribute to the maintenance of the Bridge.
He added that the meeting also dealt with the problems of agriculture in the horticultural sector, represented in opening exports to neighboring countries, especially since the onion crop in the state witnessed a terrible drop in prices during this season.
