Kassala, Feb. 5 (SUNA) - The acting Wali (governor) of Kassala State, Khojaly Hamad Abdullah, has met the representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in eastern Sudan and the state coordinator and discussed the UNDP delegation's visit to Kassala State these days and their support for the democratic transition process in Sudan.

UNDP representative in eastern Sudan reviewed the projects implemented by the UNDP in a number of fields, including supporting Kassala Teaching Hospital by benefiting from the expertise of Sudanese abroad.

He also briefed the Governor of Kassala State on peace-building program between the UNDP and UNICEF, which covers three localities in the state.

The two parties emphasized the need for coordination between the UNDP and the state government and the targeted local authorities.

The governor expressed his thanks and appreciation for the UNDP and its cooperation with the state government to implement many projects in the state.
