
Kassala, Feb.5 (SUNA) - The Acting Wali (governor) of kassala State, Khoglai Hamad Abdelalla praised the great role played by the Italian government in supporting service issues in Sudan particularly in Kassala state.
During the meeting of the state's Wali today in Kassala the Italian Ambassador to Khartoum Michele Tommasi in the presence of security committee members in the state, they discussed means of activating the joint cooperation between the government of Kassala state and the Italian Aid besides the continuity of successful partnerships between Kassala state, represented by parties concerned and the Italian government.
The Wali pointed out that Italy was the first country to address development issues in eastern Sudan, not in Kassala, the capital of the state only, but it extends activities to a number of localities across the state.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador stressed that the Italian government provided considerable support to the health programs in Sudan, amounting to 500 million euros. The Italian diplomat, expressed his appreciation for the Kassala government's support to Italian aid activities.The Country Director of the Italian Aid in Sudan reviewed the size of the partnerships between the Italian and Sudanese government in various fields, including the universities of Kassala and Sasay and the Italian Society for Cooperation between Peoples, through which many programs were implemented, stressing keenness in the Italian Aid to create partnerships for cooperation between Sudan and Italy through the relevant institutions to maintain the continuity of work in the future even after the completion of Italian aid projects.He noted that the existence of partnerships with some international organizations in the implementation of projects, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
