Khartoum, March 14 (SUNA) - The African Union Representative to Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Belaish, met today at the premises of the African Union in Khartoum, political and native leaders of eastern Sudan and the coalition of civil society organizations.

The meeting discussed the issues of eastern Sudan and the transformations at the level of political and social consensus that took place at the beginning of current March.

Head of the Civil Society Organizations bloc Salah-Eddin Abu-Bakr Amer said in a statement to SUNA that the meeting underscored the need to address development issues in east Sudan and issues of political participation in a better position than the form of the current political process (the framework agreement) and the importance of a comprehensive negotiating platform with regional sponsorship and international guarantees.

Salah-Eddin stressed that the political and social leaders of east Sudan adhere to resolving the east issue before implementing the framework agreement or forming a government in the country.
