Khartoum, March 17 (SUNA)- The Quartet Mechanism including of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America and the United Kingdom, in a press statement welcomed, today, the outcome of the meeting of the military and civilian signatories to the political framework agreement on March 15, 2023 and the progress it made towards reaching a final Political Agreement to restore a civilian-led transitional government.
The Quartet underlined that the agreement of the signatories to complete all Phase II dialogues before the start of the holy month of Ramadan, indicating their commitment to ensuring a better future for the people of Sudan by establishing a drafting committee that can begin work to prepare a final agreement and related documents on transitional structures.
The Quartet stressed that it is also necessary to determine the envisaged timetable for completing the remaining tasks and pushing ahead the process to an early end in the formation of a new civilian-led government.
The quartet urged all those invited to participate in this process such as the signatories, the non - signatories and the civil society to participate and ensure their votes.
